Meet Our Pediatric Dentists in Wichita & Derby KS

Amrita Khemka DMD

Board Certified Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Amrita Khemka did her undergraduate training in Psychology at Indiana University. She attended Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis to receive a Master of Science degree in Biology. In 2014, Dr. Khemka moved from the mid-west to Boston in order to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She wasn’t ready to leave New England just yet and moved to Providence, Rhode Island, where she completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry.

Her husband, Ranjit Ghanta, is a general dentist and owns Maple Park Dentistry out west. He finished his Advanced Education in General Dentistry here in Wichita and fell in love with the people and what the city has to offer. He convinced Dr. Khemka to move to the Sunflower State, which happens to be her favorite flower. They have an almost two-year-old daughter that keeps them busy. Dr. Khemka is extremely excited to be part of the ICTeeth and Smile Safari family and to be involved in an exceptional community.

Why did you become a pediatric dentist?

“I loved going to the dentist growing up and used to dress-up in my fanciest clothes for my appointments, but I learned that not everyone shares the same feelings. A majority of the adults I treated in dental school had traumatic experiences as a child, stopping them from
seeing a dentist as an adult. I want to try to prevent the next generation from being afraid of going to the dentist. Plus, who doesn’t love kids? Every kiddo is unique, and you never know where the conversation takes you!”

What an amazing office. My kids and I love the staff and the doctors!! Everyone is very caring and great with kids! Thank you for making the dentist such a fun and positive place!
